Eating Out

Puglian restaurants and bars in the local area

Restaurants don't generally open until at least 8.00 pm at night. Italians tend to eat fairly late, so it can be very busy around 9.00 - 9.30 pm onwards. Some restaurants are not open on a lunchtime, so it is worth checking first and not all restaurants will serve pizza on a lunch time.

Make sure that you get the opportunity to try a coffee and cornetto at some point for your breakfast. Many of the bars serve them in and around Noci - all different, so it is worth sampling a few!

We have compiled a very brief list of places that we have enjoyed eating at, we hope you will too. The people of Puglia are very proud of their cuisine and rightly so. This region (and specifically around Noci) is famous for it’s gastronomical delights, so please don’t be misled into thinking this list is an exhaustive one, far from it, there are literally hundreds of places to eat and we are still discovering them ourselves.

San Bernardo- Noci

(centro storico)- This little place is tucked away just inside the historical centre of Noci. They do pizza to eat in or take away. I defy anyone to eat cheaper! 15 minutes drive from Don Giulio.

Bar D'Angio - Noci

Drinks and snacks are served here and there is usually some live music at the weekends. The staff are very friendly and Wi-Fi access is free here. 10 minutes drive from Don Giulio.

Il Marsupio - Noci

Relatively new restaurant, but instantly busy and with good reason. The food is superb, the anti pasti are particularly good. 10 minutes drive from Don Giulio. There is plenty of room to dine outside during the summer months.

Il Guercio - Alberobello

The restaurant is situated in the bottom of Alberobello, close to the historic trulli village. In the summer, there is a lovely garden to eat in. The anti pasti are wonderful and change to reflect the seasons. About 20 minutes drive from the property.

San Vito - Beachside restaurant

The name of the restaurant escapes me, however San Vito is only a small place and the restaurant is located on the left on entering San Vito on the edge of a small beach overlooking the sea. The fish is always freshly caught and the spaghetti alle cozze is always good. San Vito is located North of Polignano a Mare towards Bari about 45 minutes drive from the property and the restaurant is usually open on a lunchtime. I would advise booking if there is a large party of you.

Barsento - Noci

Barsento is signposted from the main road into Noci. It is worth a visit as it is also a beautifully kept "cantina" so you can sample their wines with the food, which are very good and reasonable to buy to take home with you. The restaurant has a nice outdoor eating area serving traditional Italian cuisine.

We are constantly updating this online list of places to eat and drink, so please keep us informed of your discoveries.
