House & Garden

The Layout of the house

The combination of modern villa and ancient trulli works brilliantly at Don Giulio, allowing our visitors to experience the distant past whilst enjoying the space and convenience of the modern house.

The living areas

Within the house you will find the very generously sized dining kitchen, which is well equipped with an electric oven, gas hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The dining table will easily seat 8, though during the summer months you’ll probably eat outside at the table on the veranda. During winter months, the open fire in the corner keeps the room cosy.

From the kitchen we enter the hall, off which is the shower room and toilet. Next are the 4 bedrooms which will comfortably sleep 8 people in two sets of bunk beds and two emperor sized double beds.

The Trulli

Further down the hall we enter the Trulli, which is like stepping back in time. The beautiful construction of the conical roofs is clearly visible from below and the arches that connect the three rooms are so low that most adults will need to stoop slightly to move between them. Here you can find respite from the Italian sun and take time to browse some of the books we have in there.

The garden and external areas

The garden is large, even by Puglian standards. In this most peacful of settings, you’ll find wildlife in abundance and you can enjoy the far reaching views as you stroll amongst the olive, fig and almond trees. Tranquility like this is hard to find in Britain. An above ground pool is planned for the summer of 2013.
